Scenic Run – Patriots Point, Mt. Pleasant, SC

A couple Fridays ago, I found a new scenic route in Mt. Pleasant I really enjoy. And, it doesn’t involve having to run over the Ravenel Bridge but under it instead.
I parked and started my run at the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park. I know some people don’t like paying to park but it’s only 50cents for an hour and it feels like my car is relatively safe there. Plus, I feel safe with so many people around.

Can You Say Nike+ Fail?


I bought new shoes. I put Nike+ chip in a pouch on new shoes (just like I did with old shoes). Uh, no, this isn’t an accurate recording of my workout. I ran and walked over 3.5 miles in those 50mins. I mean, really? A 71:45min/mi pace, is that possible?

I adjusted the chip to be under my shoelaces so it would record correctly. Uhhh nope, still Fail.

Measure Up: 30 Day Shred


Well, after so long of reading about how good a workout Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred workout dvd is, I finally bought my own copy. For under $10 at Target, I couldn’t argue with trying it out. I also picked up a couple cheap 5lb weights. I know they recommend you start at 3lbs but I do a lot of strength training regularly and was pretty confident I could challenge myself better if I started with the heavier weights.

Adventures in Self Propelled Treadmill Land


Tonight, I tried something new at the gym. I kept seeing these odd treadmills. People seemed to be running on them okay and well it was cool and new. They were self propelled and curvy. Turns out, it’s called a Woodway Curve Non-Motorized Treadmill. I liked the concept, you run at your own speed based on your movement/effort and not the forced speed of the treadmill. Not As Planned

I’ve been gone for a little while. It’s because I went on vacation, a real vacation, to a beach, where I enjoyed a care-free non-work lifestyle for a week.
